The 2023 edition of the Raw Materials Week takes place in Brussels, 13-17 November 2023. It will centre around the European Critical Raw Materials Act and include the 10th annual High-Level Conference of the European Innovation Partnership (EIP) on raw materials, co-organised with Eumicon, on 15 November.

Registrations will open in September 2023.

Previous Raw Materials Weeks

With an unprecedented success in 2022, counting on the participation of over 1500 participants, the Shifting Economy Week returns in 2023, scheduled to take place between 17 and 23 November.

Similar to the previous edition, the week will gather various stakeholders from Brussels region engaged in fostering the development of an economy capable of tackling the current environmental and social challenges.

New format, new activities expected for this third edition of the Shifting Economy Week. The event will span over five days:

  • 17/11: Entrepreneurship day – in partnership with UCM, UNIWO and BECI
  • 20/11: Retail and sustainable alimentation
  • 21/11: Circular economy
  • 22/11: Social and democratic entrepreneurship
  • 23/11: Closing

RHINOCEROS participation at Shifting Economy 2023

During the third day, dedicated to Circular economy, our project partner Watt4Ever (W4E) will organise an open-doors event providing participants with the possibility to pay a visit to their premises. The visit will be followed by a detailed presentation of the RHINOCEROS project, where W4E are conducting the EoL batteries characterisation analysis, co-planning processes for automated LIBs sorting and dismantling, and supporting the broad sustainability assessment.

The 43rd Meeting of the Specialised Electrochemistry Group of Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry (RSEQ) will take place in Ciudad Real (ESP) between 3 and 5 July 2023.

The RHINOCEROS project will be featured in the presentation “Transforming strategic metals from secondary resources into functional materials for electrochemical energy technologies”, delivered by the VITO’s GDEx team.

After two successful editions, the Battery Innovation Days (BID) is back. Today’s key European Research & Innovation initiatives (Batteries EuropeBattery 2030+ and the Batteries European Partnership Association), in partnership with the Batteries 1st and 2nd IPCEIs, are co-organising a unique hybrid experience, designed to bring together numerous key players and experts from the battery field. This year, thanks to the Host, the Nouvelle Aquitaine Region, BID 2023 will be held in the beautiful city of Bordeaux, France. Similar to previous editions, BID 2023 offers a seamless all-in-one experience on 14 & 15 November, at the Centre de Congrès Cité Mondiale and online.

The 4th Dresden Battery Days meeting on “Steps to sustainable and circular battery value chain” will take place from September 25–27, 2023, at Fraunhofer IKTS in Dresden, Germany.

It is of utmost importance to establish solutions for sustainable battery value chain, and circular processes, digitalisation and recycling are important parts of this development. This two-day meeting will be dedicated to discussions and knowledge exchange between international electrochemical energy storage experts on this topic.

Participants are cordially invited to contribute to the discussion also with posters.

Furthermore, the symposium will be complemented by an industrial exhibition.

Battery Recycling Conference & Expo 2023 will take place between 28 and 29 June 2023 in Frankfurt Messe.
